Subject: RFL covers Labi Siffre, Eminem sampled it, not the other way round!
"I Got The Blues" is a song by Labi Siffre, which Eminem sampled for his tune. Reason For Leaving covers the original version!

according to Wikipedia:
For rapper Eminem's hit single "My Name Is," hip hop record producer Dr. Dre wanted to use a sample (written by Siffre and including Siffre on electric piano) of his song "I Got The Blues" for the rhythm track. Siffre objected to what he describes as "lazy writing" (in the sleeve notes of the EMI re-mastered CD of the source album Remember My Song): "Attacking two of the usual scapegoats, women and gays, is lazy writing. If you want to do battle, attack the aggressors not the victims".

Eminem and Dr Dre had to edit their song to get the sample cleared. The original bootlegged version can be downloaded on file-sharing networks. Labi Siffre's original is available on his 1988 album "So Strong", the 2006 re-mastered EMI CD "The Best of Labi Siffre" and the usual download sites.

PS RFL is a very fun bar band! Tyler got that right! ;-)

Subject: Alright bar band
The recording quality on this is really good. It's a soundboard recording. The guitars and drums are especially low in the mix and the vocals are especially high. I had never heard of this band before, I just grabbed it because it was on the 'this day in history' box on the front page of the LMA and it had streaming option so I could listen at work.

This band has a funk / rock feel to it. very 'Red-Hot-Chili-Peppers' vibe. Overall: the band just seems decent but not amazing. The singer on "Demons" just has a bad singing voice. It seems there are two singers. The singer on track 11 is a lot better. "Got Blues Pt 2" has a fun intro cover of Eminem's "My name is ..." and then uses that beat / tune to continue on their own song. Overall, a fun bar band that i'm sure entertains crowds at your local bar. but in my opinion, that's all they are. I won't be looking for more of their shows to download.
